We can provide a few hours a day, or 24 hours around-the-clock-care if needed. Many of our clients start with just a few hours to develop a relationship. Then, when more care is needed, we are here and ready to assist you and your family. Our caregivers can be the familiar face that you or your loved one know– someone who will be there to help support the immediate family, so there is no worry. Depending on your situation, we can be there as little or as much as needed.
Ask about our complimentary training program for caregivers which allows 1-2 hours in the rehab clinic with a PT or OT to learn the in-home care plan to support our clients.
24-Hour Home Care Available
We can provide care on many different levels for you or your loved one. And, when around the clock care is needed, we are here for you.
24-hour home care may be needed after an emergency situation when a person has recently been hospitalized or has stayed in a rehabilitation facility after a bone fracture, stroke, or heart attack.
When changes come more gradually, there are signs that can help family and friends recognize that an older adult needs 24-hour home care.
Indicators that it’s time to secure 24-hour home care
Frequent falls
Dehydration and fainting
Difficulty eating or drinking without help
Wandering from home, by foot or in a vehicle, and getting lost or confused
Becoming confused or anxious by short absences of family, friends, or caregivers
Confusing nighttime with daytime, frequent waking in the middle of the night, or becoming agitated in the dark
New or increased bathroom accidents
One of the most common and painful indicators of the need for 24/7 care comes when family or friends are afraid to leave the older person alone at night. At this point, the family and friends are tending to the older person’s needs and neglecting their own good health.
A professional home caregiver can change all of this. All are trained to assist with Activities of Daily Living (see above). Additionally, there are memory care trained caregivers who focus on patients with changing cognition. These caregivers are trained to calm older people who may become agitated because they have lost their sense of time and place, help avoid kitchen or bathing accidents, help prevent dehydration, fainting and falls, as well as implement best practices to reduce infections through a 24-hour home care regimen.
